Frazer Henderson, Hawkhill: "I felt that Scotland should have done better. It was a very disappointing result and performance, however completely expected if the truth be told. After a very promising opening twenty minutes where I felt we were the better side and the Dutch seemed to be off their game there was an obvious change in tactics from the manager resulting in the Scotland team sitting off our hosts and allowing them to start spraying the passes.
"This enabled them to get their game together and gave them an obvious confidence boost resulting in the opening goal. The second goal right on half time was very disappointing, especially McGregor's contribution or lack thereof and this really effe
ctively finished the game as a contest. Second place in the group, while still a possibility, will probably not be enough to keep the dream alive and I fear we will miss out on a playoff spot by being the worst ranked runner up should we indeed secure second place at all."

Brian Begbie, Livingston: "Scotland were in control for the first quarter of the game and then imploded. I think George Burley will regret not playing Craig Gordon after McGregor's performance. Kenny Miller should have buried the Dutch but wasted another glorious opportunity once again. George Burley has demonstrated time and time again that he is now out of his depth at this level and should stick to managing in the Highland league.

"Once again, a good number of the Tartan Army found themselves celebrating another shocking defeat with renditions of "Doh a Deer" long into the night whilst handing out abuse to those of us who decided to leave early. Some of these fans should take a look at themselves and realise that blind loyalty gets you nowhere and we are going nowhere under Burley. I think even if we do finish second place we will be the ninth ranked and will miss out on a play off."

Steven Torrance: "We turned up at the ground in good time but didn't get in until after quarter of an hour – a total joke and how on earth the Amsterdam Arena can host Ajax games every week I just don't know. I don't think Scotland did as well as I would have expected; while a win couldn't really have been forecast a draw wasn't outwith the bounds of reality if we played to our full potential, but there was little sign of that.

"Burleys tactics are a mystery, as is his general approach – why on earth did we make two subs within seconds of each other when they could have been done at the same time and given us a few seconds more to chase the game is beyond me and I think beyond a good number of the Scotland fans who were there. What now for Scotland? A win on Wednesday night keeps us in it, at least on paper, but you'd hope that if we get anything other than three points Burley does the decent thing and lets the new manager use the remainder of this campaign to get up to speed with the squad and impose his own ideas. Time will tell as to whether that happens but if it doesn't I don't think you'll be seeing 15,000 fans following Scotland abroad again."

McGregor was not to blame for any of the goals. At the second goal for example he was blocked by Kuyt. We had a goal disallowed for less at the other end.
