A PARADE through the streets of New York was to be the culmination of a week of events celebrating Scottish and Scottish-American culture today.
First Minister Alex Salmond and Presiding Officer Alex Fergusson were due to attend the tenth annual Tartan Day parade.

The parade's grand marshal will be Lawrence Tynes, of 2008 Superbowl champions New York Giants, who was born in Greenock and brought up in Campbeltown. He said: "Having been born in Scotland as well as being a proud American, this parade has special meaning. I look forward to sharing a great day with everyone."

The parade includes dozens of pipe bands and draws participants from Scotland, the US, Switzerland, Canada and Pakistan.

Mr Salmond said: "The Tartan Day Parade is always a great focal point of the celebrations and I will be delighted to represent the Scottish Government."

Reckless,

Corrupt EU 05/04/2008 11:58:54
The US was founded largly by English migrants - remember the pilgrims? Ungrateful colonials who've forgotten their roots! They should be celebrating their anglo puritan backgrounds, or is that not PC these days?

National sovereignty must be destroyed before the global elite can take full control of us. The English are especially dangerous to the NWO. They, and their descendants have a history of fighting for their freedoms. That's why the NWO elite have to get rid of us. Remember Magna Carta, English Common Law, the US Constitution? All English acheivements! The US Constitution was modelled on Magna Carta and OUR 1689 Bill of Rights. The EU and its sister dictatorships around the world hate our laws because the state can't harm and persecute innocent individuals. Why do you think the EU is getting rid of Habeus Corpus (which protects individual freedom against tyrannical states) and replacing it with European Corpus Juris? The state wants to have control over everyone.
