PRESTON have completed the signing of former Scotland midfielder Barry Nicholson from Aberdeen.
Nicholson, who won three caps for Scotland from 2001 to 2004, waited until the end of his contract at Aberdeen before completing his move to the Coca-Cola Championship side.

He turned down new terms with the Dons, who had hoped he would agree to extend his three-year stay at Pittodrie.

Nicholson signed this morning and said: "I'm glad to have my future decided.

"It's been a bit of a weird summer for me, not knowing where I was going to be playing next season.

"To finally come down and get things sorted out has been brilliant.

"Aberdeen offered me another contract, but the chance to come and play in England was the reason I chose to leave the SPL.

"I just felt that at this stage in my career I was ready to give it a go and luckily enough Preston wanted to give me the chance to come down."
