THE race is heating up for the signature of former Aberdeen striker Steve Lovell after Falkirk manager John Hughes yesterday confirmed he has held talks with the player.
Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies said this week he has been in discussions with Lovell, while the 27-year-old has also been linked with summer moves to Hibs and Dundee.
Hughes has shown Lovell around Falkirk's new training facilities at Stirling University and said: "I've talked to Steve Lovell and he's a player I want to bring to my club."
When asked about Lovell, Hibs manager Mixu Paatelainen said: "There is plenty of speculation about players leaving and players coming in," while Dundee manager Alex Rae replied: "No comment."
