I tend to look at things from a shipbuilding point of view where the designer, or naval architect, will earn ~ 3% of the total outlay. "And only 1 in 5 of practical projects actually gets built". Lloyds TSB should have bought (or loaned me) my £10M ship (I could have put their logo on it) rather than HBOS!

Plenty of people could afford to build a house and have an architect (that understands structural engineering) to design it (only a small % of the cost) if there was LAND to put it on.

Land ownership reform should be a priority of the Scottish Government (and create jobs for architects who must have started their long training to do something useful)

A ship is launched into the Sea which isn't quite owned though lawyers are working on it.

Surely the current suburban housebuilding model (and lotsamoney for big developers) is past its sell by date?

Hah! Many of them should never been hired in the first place, considering the monstrosities they design and flog to naiive people of influence.

There's clearly a need for new homes and buildings in Scotland. And no shortage of land to put them on.

Architects - do they study structural engineering and materials science? Why not design a modern building you'd sign your name to?

Natural Spaces Domes of Minnesota shows a way forward.
