The crowds came out for our returning Olympic heroes but it was the knives that were out for Sean's fan and Forth One.
A crowd of 50,000 turned out to welcome home Chris Hoy and our Olympic medal winners.Well done Chris. You did us proud.
Tr1xxWell done Chris Hoy – but watch out that Provost Grubb doesn't steal your limelight (or yo
ur gold medals for that matter).
Desperately Seeking.......a solutionIt was great to see the Olympic medal winners today but why did Chris Hoy have to spend the whole trip along the High Street talking to a TV interviewer? It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for him and I'm sure he would have rather been looking over the front of the bus waving to everyone that had turned out to greet him and his fellow Olympians. The interview could easily have been done before or after the parade. I'll have to watch the telly to see what he looks like!
Hail Smilin MornOh dear, dear...are some folk never pleased? What makes someone taking part in a minority sport a HERO!! Well done Team GB on your success, no doubt you worked very hard at it, but I wouldn't call you heroes. If anything, the heroes are the tax payers who helped you get where you are today!
allknowingGreat to see them being recognised for their achievements but my children were all at school and missed all of this. They would have loved to have been there. It's a shame the council didn't want the local children to attend.
KMESave the Velodrome at Meadowbank! Get behind Hoycules!!!
Boy Wonder"Hoycules". Fantastic!
Casey BeerA Bond fan camped for four days outside the Caley to get Big Tam's autograph...How did he get the tent pegs into the cobbles?
DuncHow very sad, The man's a disgrace.
gorgeousgorgieboyGreat story, really enjoyed it...thanks a lot...can't wait for tomorrow's hot news.
FrankGallagherOh, thanks Frank, you're welcome...ah, now I see, I have a defective sarcasm gene. D'oh!What have I told you all in recent weeks? Edinburgh is a 'Madhouse'! One must expect stories like this from now on.
Charles LinskaillRight, enough. Moving on...a shuffle of the decks at Forth One put some of you in a spin.Local radio is gone, goodbye, farewell and watch the listening figures for Forth One drop like a stone. Just listen to Real Radio in the evenings and at the weekends to see just how terrible it can be.
thehitmasterIf it ain't broke don't fix it and the Boogie in the Morning show certainly ain't broke.
GrouchyWay to ruin a decent local radio station...now what am I going to listen to?
PolSounds like Talk 107 all over again. Less Edinburgh progs, feeds from London. Local radio does seem to be struggling, we used to have a lot of choice.
capyIt definitely won't be local radio anymore, and I for one will be listening elsewhere. Forth 2 have already extended their shows and it is not the same.
