In the cold light of day (albeit it's 3am here in Scotland!) this plan makes complete sense. It's hard to see why some people are so vehemently against it. I think unfortunately that the endorsement by the first minister has lead to the usual rump of 'nat-bashers' coming out of the woodwork to try and trash anything that might be good for Scotland.

So, 10% of 230 football pitches = 23 football pitches of what is supposed to be protected land.

The SSSI is important as a MOBILE dune system - that's what makes it special; it's one of the best examples of this in Europe. So planting vegetation - or any other measure to STABILISE the dunes does indeed destroy just what makes the site special.

The FSB should be ashamed for trotting out Mr Trump's inflated figures. £1bn investment? 1400 permanent jobs? Aye right!

Ultimately though, it's just that Scotland shouldn't be sellling off its crown jewels to a man like Mr Trump to come and make a fast buck. Seriously, who thinks he wants to help Scotland?
