DUNDEE United manager Craig Levein insists he has heard nothing from Celtic about their reported interest in goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska.
Zaluska, 26, is out of contract at the end of the season and can sign a pre-contract agreement from 1 January. Levein believes the Pole can realise his ambitions at Tannadice and does not need to look elsewhere.
"I think the right thing for Lukasz
to do at the moment is to stay here," said Levein. "He has made significant progress in the last three or four months and I think there is more to come."
Zaluska's displays in goal have helped United embark on a 10-game unbeaten run, which has seen them climb to third place in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. Levein added: "Success attracts predators, with other people trying to take players to improve their teams."
Levein has offered Zaluska a new contract and expects to get a response shortly.
"He won't improve by going to another club and sitting on the bench," said Levein. "He's not a stupid boy and I think he recognises that. But I'm not interested in players who only want to play for Dundee United.
"I entice them to this club with the promise that, if they work hard and get to a level where there is interest, we will do everything we can to help them achieve their goals."
