PLANS to turn a section of one of Edinburgh's busiest roads into a bus lane have been approved.
Regional transport body Sestran wants to transform a northbound lane of Queensferry Road – between the Quality Street and Clermiston Road junctions – during the evening rush hour.

The £700,000 plan would also add signals at Blackhall and Quality Street to give buses priority.

Well, well, well - no great surprise that this crackpot scheme gets the "green light" (must EEN persist in overusing this pitiful cliche?)

If someone starts an online petition it shouldn't be too difficult to demonstrate massive dissent to our ELECTED leaders. Failing that, total non-compliance.

Does this useless mob have any mandate to do this? The council has stated in the past that Qferry Road is too busy for a bus lane.

What a Great idea, With all this traffic stuck at Blackhall it will add one even more time to bus journeys out of Edinburgh, but thankful there is New bus lane to help them out.

£700,000 just to make a little bit of bus lane, I think I will take up road painting for a living!!

This will be a disaster. It will be interesting to see how the Lib Dem MP and Lib Dem MSP for Edinburgh West explain why the Lib Dem council have destroyed the quality of living of their constituents.

At least it's only going to operate in the rush hour. I can't for the life of my see why any bus lanes need to operate outside these times, except to confuse drivers and con them into incurring fines.

Would a Transport Edinburgh branded napkin win your support for trams?
No, they’ll need to bribe me with something better than that
Yes, it’s a legitimate way to promote the project
I’m already in favour of the trams
