GOOD!

There's only ONE WAY to get around this city and that's by car!

If you use any public transport you do not deserve to even exist in my opinion.

#4 The vast majority! It's a well off area sure enough, which I imagine is what is motivating your indignation, but the vast majority of residents in the areas surrounding the Western General do not have driveways, and need on-street parking.

I used to have regular treatments at the Western many years ago, before I shifted to bus transport in town, and before the parking facilities were improved, and I regularly drove around the residential streets looking for somewhere to park - it was typical to allow an additional half hour for this exercise each visit.

That was the reality, and if I had been I resident I too would have clamoured for a CPZ.

#3 The reason the CPZ was brought in was cash. How many residents around Fettes,Inverleith and the Botanics do you know that don't have their own drive ways?

#2 For goodness' sake: the reason the CPZ was brought in was because residents were unable to park!

You could solve the parking problem at the Western General in one fell swoop---scrap the CPZ around the place and let people park in the massively wide, straight streets nearby... like they always used to.

No-one can say that allowing cars to park around Inverleith, Fettes and the Botanic Gardens is going to cause any problems. It would however, solve the issue of parking at the Western at a stroke.

There's been a mobile drill or piledriver parked there the last couple of days. New multi-storey car park? Bit of an own goal for CEC.
