With summer finally arriving (or so they say), why not enjoy the best of the sunshine with a selection of crisp, refreshing and highly quaffable wines?
Perfect for enjoying with friends in the garden or with a delicious BBQ, give these a try this weekend.

Argento Cool Climate Vineyard Pinot Grigio 2007 (Tesco, £5.99) Italy is well known as a producer of Pinot Grigio – one of our favourite summer
wines. But did you know that Argentina is hot on its trail? Packed with crunchy apple and pear characters this juicy wine is the ultimate summer treat.

Duo Mythique Syrah Grenache Rose 2007 (Co-op, £4.99) A sunny blend from the south of France, this wine is great served well chilled as an aperitif. Made with a blend of Shiraz and Grenache, this wine is the true taste of summer, with flavours of strawberries and raspberries and long crisp finish.

Tesco Finest* Chianti Classico Riserva 2005 (Tesco, £7.19) Deep red in colour with black cherry and berry fruits, spice aromas and a hint of chocolate, this wine is made with the iconic Italian variety Sangiovese. A serious yet approachable late summer red, this Italian classic is the perfect match to BBQ meats – think sticky pork ribs or ribeye beef.

WINE OF THE WEEK
Spier Private Collection Sauvignon Blanc 2006 (Morrisons, £13.99). Definitely one to splash out on. South Africa is producing some of the most exciting Sauvignon Blancs and this wine shows prominent aromas of rich tropical fruit and hints of freshly cut grass, with a taste of ripe fig.

BARGAIN OF THE WEEK
McGuigan Grey Label Chardonnay 2007 (Tesco, £6.99 down to £4.99 until September 9) The new wave of Aussie Chardonnay. Say goodbye to oaky, rich and heavy and enjoy this elegant and stylish summer white. Bursting with fresh tropical fruit flavours of pineapple and guava. It is refreshingly crisp.
