I'm Wee Willie & Brother Rick's cousin. Thank goodness Quarriers was there when our fathers needed them. If it wasn't for Quarriers, who knows what would have happened to the family.
I've been back to Scotland and Quarriers Village many times and like my cousins am extremely proud of my Scottish heritage.
Looking forward to my next visit with family and friends.

My father, two uncles and one aunt came to Canada from Quarriers in the 1920's. They were from a family of ten children in Kennethmont, Aberdeenshire. After the death of their mother five of the ten were sent to Quarriers. I've been to Scotland many times to see Quarriers Village and to visit with the families of the children who remained in Scotland. I am very proud of my Scottish heritage.

The Scottish Diaspora (like the Jewish one of 2000 yrs ago) has seen our nation put its footprint on every landmass on the planet.

Many of them were forced out of Scotland (as in the Clearances), but it was this that made them a great part of the making of the Modern World. Without the Scots, where would the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and other countries be today without their input??

This is one reason I have a great pride in my fellow Scots. We can be the girniest eejits, this side of the Carpathians .... but by all the gods, the warld wid be a caulder place athoot us!

A lot of them had a hard time. Maybe should have stayed in Scotland and emigrated later on.

Each and every one who came has added his or her own share to the building of this great nation. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the entire country of Canada should have been named Nova Scotia instead of just the one province.
