HEARTS manager Csaba Laszlo will hold urgent talks with Laryea Kingston after the injured midfielder travelled almost 4,000 miles to Ghana for tonight's international friendly against Tunisia.
Kingston has missed Hearts' last five games with a thigh problem, but the Ghanaian Football Association wanted their own doctors to examine him.

Laszlo said: "If Larry is back, we must talk about this issue. I know he is in Ghana and I am surpr
ised. The player is injured. He can't play for his national team. He has a letter; the medical staff from Ghana would like to see him, but he can't play. Heart of Midlothian have medical staff who do a good job."

Laszlo insists Kingston will not be involved in Saturday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League match against Falkirk.

He said: "Larry will definitely not play in my team. He cannot come back so quickly. I don't know when he will be fit. He was getting treatment in our medical department. He tried to come back, but he told us he was injured.

"He had the invitation from the football federation of Ghana – and if you receive this letter, your club cannot refuse to release you. We released Larry, but if the player is injured and he would like to come back quickly, this is not the best way.

"This is a friendly game for Ghana, not an official game. You are injured and you lose a lot of time. You are sitting in the airport or on an aeroplane – you are not receiving treatment. This is not what I want and this is not professional."

Kingston has not featured for Hearts since the 1-1 draw with Hibs at Easter Road on 19 October. It was hoped he would be fit for the visit of Celtic to Tynecastle earlier this month, but the 28-year-old missed that defeat and the subsequent victories over St Mirren, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Hamilton Academical.

The midfielder also missed three months last season due to a combination of injury and Ghana's participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Meanwhile, injury-hit Hearts striker Mike Tullberg could make his return against Rangers next week.

Laszlo has revealed the Danish forward, who has made just two appearances since joining on loan from Reggina because of a persistent thigh problem, is likely to resume full first-team training this week.

"I am very happy about this," said Laszlo. "I hope this means we have very few players injured. If Tullberg is back, then this gives us a bit extra and more options for us to think about."

Laszlo is also considering pairing Tullberg with Christian Nade in a two-pronged attack.

"We have not seen him together with Christian Nade, because they have not been both fit at the same time. However, this is something we will consider," said Laszlo, who hopes Tullberg can have a similar effect to Bruno Aguiar following the latter's recent return from injury.

"I hope Mike can come back and make the same impact as Bruno. If he does then he would bring a fresh impulse up front."

Bye bye Larry.

Great player - in fact, top top player - when he could be bothered - but just another one of the many mercenaries and misfits who jumped onto the Romanov gravy train.

Away off and count yer money with that Chilean waster, Pinilla.

#1 True.

Who signs these misfits? Oh, yes, that's right - it's Romanov (or his lackeys).

Tullberg? Pinilla? Beslija?

Yeah, Vlad. Much better than Gordon-Pressley-Hartley, eh?

Any f*ckwit can see that, eh..?

#2 - Beslija, I'd nearly forgotten about that money pit.

Be a bit fair,Kingston is a fantastic player
You would need a crystall ball to see this coming
I just hope he has engineered himself a move in January or better still Shabba puts him on the transferr list

Talk o' the Toun,

KINGSTON should not be bracketed with beslija/pinilla(& FFS give Tullberg a chance:seems like a genuine young player who has been unlucky with injuries).
Has to sorted one way or the other .For me....hopefully by CSABA using his man management to get him playing/contributing again(as he has before unlike Beslija/Pinilla).Even if it is to get him a move/maximise his transfer fee.....mexican stand off/confining him to salt mines would be cutting our nose off to spite our faces.

Kingston was gifted but lazy and didn't track back, IF, he has gone or is going in January then it would free up some money for a striker. We have an abundance of players in midfield and a serious lack of talent up front, so this could be a positive thing.
If a player doesn't want to play for his club that are paying his wages then they should be shown the door, that is the Vlad way.

5 games without the lazy wee sod.
3 wins
1 draw
1 loss

Ship him out Csaba and get someone willing to graft in there!

Judging by the comments no jambo seems really bothered wether he stays or goes and i can only see that as a positive
The fact that Lazlo has the team playing and probably our most gifted player has been missing can only be a good thing
I agree with TOTT though if he is fit he should still be considered for selection,we still always have to field our strongest side
Something we have not done in the past

#8 Fit or not, picking Kingston at the moment weakens the team. His fitness has nothing to do with it.

AND at the moment nobody knows if he is truly injured or not. He says that he gets a pain in his thigh when he runs or kicks the ball. The Hearts medical staff can't find a reason for it.......sounds to me like he's just trying to work his ticket!

huggs,

#9 Of course his fitness has something to do with it
You are not going to pick an unfit player are you!!
Read the post i said considered for selection

#10 His fitness would only have something to do with it if you could trust him to perform.

i.e Kingston is injured......so what? Kingston is fit....stick his prima donna a*se in the reserves!

Nothing differs here from Capello requesting an injured Gerrard to be assessed by the English Team doctors.

Dont see Rafa demanding urgent talks with Stevie G, does Csaba know the rules?
13

theviewfromgorgie,

19/11/2008 10:46:45
#12 Seriously?

England are playing in Germany. Kingston is travelling 4,000 miles. Obua's injury was blamed on being on a long flight. Csaba is concerned that sitting on long flights with (presumably) no hope of playing for Ghana will set any injury back further.

LionheartFodithman,

Surely a player that is trying to manipulate his way out of a club would be better playing out of his skin to command a better wage for himself.

Unless the deal has already been done of course ;-).
15

theviewfromgorgie,

#14 Possibly. But then football players were never noted for their brains. Look at Bednar for example or the ever "injured" Pinilla and Beslija. Or Marco Negriat Rangers. Even the huff Bellamy took with Newcastle.

I'm sure that if somebody had the time to research it they could come up with a pretty big list of players that have tried to engineer moves in strange ways.

Eighteen Seventy-Four,

13. Does it matter how far he has to travel ? If Ghana request his presence, Larry cant refuse if he wants to continue playing for them, and Csaba has no say in it, thats the rules, no matter how long his flight is.
17

Chas Niceass,

19/11/2008 11:09:20
Larry should either buck up his ideas, akin to Nade, or find his way to Barcelona where he clearly believes he belongs. Perhaps they are having talks with him in Ghana as we speak.
18

the beast,

London 19/11/2008 11:20:28
#17, Barcelona? He'd struggle at Ballingry Rovers with his attitude at the moment. I agree with you on the point of bucking up his idea's, the ego massage is not working so it's time to graft again, or move on.
19

Chas Niceass,

19/11/2008 11:55:42
#18 Thats who Larry said he wanted to play for eventually, quite laughable really, you need the attitude to match the skills to succeed.
20

Bleeding Heart...,

#19 Larry seems to say a lot!

Before the St.Midden game the other week he was quoted as saying...

"I am fit for tomorrow. I will be very happy if I play because I've missed two games which is no good for me. I want to play in every game of the season. I'm fully fit and my injury has healed 100 per cent, so I am ready to start if I am selected."

Apparently more double-speak from inside Tyniegrad..?

This has been copied from the Ghanaian Football Association website;

"Laryea Kingston says he did not defy his club, Hearts by flying to Accra despite being unfit for Ghana’s international friendly against Tunisia.

The Ghana midfielder has explained his decision to travel to Accra after club coach, Lazslo Csaba expressed his frustrations over the player's absence.

According to the player, he flew in because he wanted to show the Ghana Football Association that he is indeed injured.

Despite Csaba being angry, the Hearts midfielder told KickOffGhana.com that he is hopeful it won’t cause any tension between himself and the club’s Hungarian coach.

“I never came here to play the game but I needed to show proof of my injury to the Ghana team,” he said.

“It is unfortunate that this has been made to look as though I defied club orders because I have great respect for the coach and club and will not do any such thing.”

Kingston will be in Edinburgh on Thursday and will hold clear the air talks with Csaba in a bid to explain matters.

He is hoping to be fit for the side in two weeks time after an injury that has kep him out of action for three weeks".

What a load of old tosh. If he's injured he shouldn't have to travel half way round the world to prove. His substantial wages are paid by HMFC and if proof was needed surely some sort of independent assessment could have been arranged here via the SFA.

Me thinks he has commitment issues...
