Anna Richardson, 28, a project manager from Bruntsfield, names her favourite independent shops in Edinburgh.
The Bead Shop, Stockbridge This is a must for anyone who likes making their own jewellery.

Studio One, Stafford Street This is my favourite interiors shop. It's also a great place for presents.

The Manna House, Easter Road They have a wonderful selection of bread and cakes.

One World Shop, Princes Street They have lots of really unusual gifts. Everything is fairtrade too.

Armstrong's, Grassmarket This is the best place for vintage clothes, and you can be sure no-one else will have the same outfit.
