Grant Ferguson, 24, a building protection officer from Kirknewton, lists his five favourite places to exercise in Edinburgh
The Pentland Hills. They're large enough for variety and have plenty of tough parts and scenic views.

Edinburgh International Climbing Arena, Ratho. The gym is well stocked and always quiet. I don't feel any pressure working out there.

Commonwealth Pool. It's well maintained and the pool is long enough to give you good exercise before you turn round mid-swim.

Arthur's Seat. It's a good hill with a great view. It's not too taxing on your body but its a good walk.

The roads around Kirknewton. They're where I go running!
