Janine Reilly, 39, a sales executive from Bruntsfield, names her top five places to buy an ice cream in Edinburgh
Vittoria, Leith Walk. The knickerbocker glories in here are legend. The tall glass spilling over with ice cream and sauces seems impossible to polish off, but I always seem to manage it.

S. Luca, Morningside Road. You can't beat the Italian ice cream. I like the variety of flavours here.

Ice cream van, Holyrood Park. It's lovely to spend the day walking around the park and then indulge in a whipped ice on the way home.

Otavio's, Canongate. It seems to only open in summer months, but it's a good old fashioned ice cream parlour and I think it should open all year round.

McDonald's, London Road. It's hard to better McDonald's on price. I used to love the sundaes, with plenty of chocolate or caramel sauce on top. These days the McFlurry is as close to a proper Italian sundae as you're likely to get for less than £5.
