Kevin Campbell, 40, a taxi driver from Portobello, lists his favourite short walks around Edinburgh.
Cramond There is so much to see on a walk along the river, including the church, harbour and beach.

Union Canal I particularly like the stretch at Polwarth where there are often great barges to look at as well as a stunning church.

Arthur's Seat It's a must and not to be taken for granted. How many other cities are privileged enough to have such an amazing feature? Best time to take a hike is early morning when it's quiet and the air is crisp.

Portobello Beach The views across to Fife are great. This is a great walk for all the family with plenty of stop-off points along the way, including places to enjoy a fish supper.

Corstorphine Hill A great retreat for anyone looking to escape the city for a while. Foxes, badgers, spectacular woodland and flora make for an easy or energetic, interesting afternoon stroll.
