Malcolm MacLeod, 27, from Dalry, a civil servant, describes five steps to an ideal Saturday in Edinburgh.
Union Canal I love going for an morning run here. Regardless of the weather, it's a great place to unwind.

Newspapers There is nothing quite like having time on your side to sit back and enjoy the papers.

First Coast, Dalry Road This has to be the best restaurant ever. It's got amazing food and wallet-friendly prices.

Mathers Bar, Broughton Street One of my favourite pubs in Edinburgh for a pint with friends.

The Egg, Edinburgh Art College Guaranteed to be a night full of surprises. Great music, a relaxed atmosphere and always fun.
