Margaret Kay, 52, a GP and mum of three from Cramond, chooses her favourite five places in and around the Capital.
St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, Palmerston Place. It's stunning inside. Any church is a good place to go and reflect. But I tend to go to St Mary's when something is troubling me.

Warriston Cemetery. Some of my friends think it's ghoulish but I like walking through Warriston Cemetery and looking at the graves. Parts are overgrown like a jungle, but it is peaceful.

The River Almond at Cramond. There's something calming about watching ducks and swans on the river before lunch at Cramond Inn on a Sunday.

I like a trip out to South Queensferry. Every time I see the rail bridge it never fails to amaze me. There's a bench where you can sit and look up at the trains.

Just by the Britannia at Ocean Terminal. There's a nice spot looking over the harbour to sit down and eat a sandwich. It's so peaceful.
