High 5: Naomi Crowley
Naomi Crowley, a researcher for the book Edinburgh For Under Fives, lists her top five things for city pre-schoolers.
1 Gorgie City Farm. The animals and staff are friendly and it provides an ideal opportunity for young children to see farm animals at close range. All areas are accessible for pushchairs.
2 Meadows East play park. Large and innovative, this playground can keep children of all ages happy for hours on end.
3 Ceramic Experience Ocean Drive, Britannia Quay. Ceramic painting studio for families where babies' and children's footprints can be put on to anything from tiles to teapots.
4 Cinema. The Cameo in Home Street offers screenings exclusively for parents of babies of 12 months or under on Thursdays at 10.30am. The Filmhouse in Lothian Road has similar screenings on Mondays at 10.30am.
5 Portobello Beach. This is a great day trip for families with young children.
