1 Dropkick Murphys, Merchant Street It's always packed to the rafters and the bands they get in really get the place going.

2 The Mitre, Royal Mile The music particularly on a Friday and Saturday is excellent.

3 The Blind Poet, West Nicolson Street It's one of these places that's actually better on a week night than weekends.

4 Whistle Binkies, South Bridge You can't not include this place just for the variety and atmosphere.

5 Utopia, Easter Road They have music on Thursdays and it's really chilled out and relaxed.
