Mino Russo, 40, from Blackford, a business developer for Elmwood Design, chooses his favourite five places near his Thistle Street office.
Lime I start the day with a great coffee from this tiny, but smart take-away. They also have great smoothies too.

The Dogs Just around the corner on Hanover Street. Great new restaurant with a warm and friendly approach to service – always flattering. It's always busy, which, in my opinion, is a really good sign. The Stornoway Black Pudding Hash & Duck Egg keeps me coming back.

The Thistle Bar Just across the road. On Fridays it's pie and peas ... delicious!

Fishers In The City Personally, I prefer this one to the one on the Shore. Pinot Noir with a fish dish – why not?

Kakao The newly-opened Scandinavian clothes boutique. Thistle Street has an unfeasibly high fashion quota for its size!
