DAVID Poole, 77, a retired engineer from Mayfield Road, picks the top five flowers that grow in his garden throughout the year.
Begonias I put them in hanging tubs during the summer. They're normally finished around July, and they're the only ones I need to keep an eye on.
Azaleas They're a summer plant too, normally finished in October.
Climbing Hydrangea I have it crawling all over my garage. It looks lovely.
Holly Very seasonal for this time of year, but I have to keep it out of the way because it's very prickly.
Cotoneaster They grow little red berries during the winter, so alongside the holly they make the garden look very festive.
