Jen Hastings, 43, a child minder from Greenbank, lists her five favourite places for a summer walk in Edinburgh.

Craighouse Campus, Morningside For such a beautiful place it's really little-known with great views.

Blackford Hill, Morningside I've never worked out why it only takes 15 minutes to climb to the top. It's not at all arduous.

Braid Hills There is a point on the golf course where you can see eight different Scottish regions.

Water of Leith, Dean Village You feel you're miles away from the city on the stretch by Dean Village and Stockbridge.

Union Canal, Polwarth When the sun's coming down it gives Edinburgh a really vintage feel.
