Legal giants not simply the White Witch in family’s tale of Narnia domain battle

ON THE face of it, it could be straight from the plot of one of CS Lewis’s evergreen Narnia stories – with a loving Edinburgh family replacing the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe’s Pevensie siblings and, ranged against them, the White Queen represented by the sinister forces of big business.

The Scotsman this week reported that the Saville-Smith family are locked in combat with legal giants Baker & McKenzie, who act for the company that owns the rights to the Narnia trademark.
