LIVINGSTON keeper Giordano Vanin has left the club just six days after signing a three-year contract.
The 22-year-old former Parma did not play in Saturday's two-goal defeat to Celtic XI after asking to be released from his contract.
Livingston boss Roberto Landi gave a French goalkeeper Vanin's gloves and he was replaced by a Brazilian trialist
after 56 minutes.
Livingston chairman Angelo Massone said: "Giordano asked to be released from the club and after consideration we agreed to his request. It's a disappointment for us but it is the best decision for both the player and Livingston.
"We are looking at a number of alternative options and we hope to be in the position to announce a replacement shortly."
It is clear Landi is still tinkering with his new-look squad and made nine substitutions in the second half. New signing Chris Innes partnered James McPake in the centre of defence and Jean Jose Cuence joined Leigh Griffiths up front.
Livingston passed the ball well and looked comfortable for periods but a defensive lapse allowed Kevin Cawley to sprint through on goal and score four minutes before half-time.
Innes then saw his header cleared off the line.
Livingston lost their way after the break as the substitutions increased and Celtic made it 2-0 on 65 minutes when Danny Lafferty scored from a corner.
Landi said: "When we arrived at the club in the summer we had four players. Our new-look team is improving all the time."
Livingston face Stranraer at Almondvale on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
