CAMPAIGNERS fighting to save Meadowbank Stadium have welcomed a pledge of continued support by the local MP.
Members of the Save Meadowbank campaign were concerned that lobbying on the issue would cool after the city council revealed plans to retain some of the facilities.

But East MP Gavin Strang said: "I am still 100 per cent in support of retaining Meadowbank and opposed to any development whatsoever on any of the land."

Three community councils have already lodged formal objections to the latest proposals for the site.
