Kickboxers to let the world battle begin

THREE members of a Midlothian kickboxing club have been chosen to take part in the sport's world championships.
The participants from the Dalkeith-based Raptors Kickboxing Club have won places on the Scottish team for the event in Orlando, Florida, in November.
Emma Hughes, David Middlemass and David Ingles will all take part in the high-profile event. They were chosen thanks to an excellent performance in the Scottish equivalent of the championships in Cumbernauld earlier this year.
The club was founded in 1992. Loanhead-based coach John Young, who has coached there for a decade, said he was proud of his charges.
He said: "With the kind of talent we have coming through the club I expect some serious successes at a world level.
"We have members covering a whole range of ages and experience, and they are great fun to work with."
