Pet blood donors plea

VETS in Midlothian are asking cat owners to volunteer their pets as blood donors.
Staff at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Roslin want to increase the number of cat blood donors.

Cat blood, unlike human blood, cannot be stored for more than 24 hours and has to be taken fresh from the animal at short notice.
