Estate agent Strutts its stuff with £14m
A GLUT of Scottish deals has helped a leading estate agent defy the housing slowdown.
Strutt & Parker said it has achieved almost £15 million of sales from 21 deals in Scotland in the past fortnight.
The firm said there continues to be demand for good, realistically priced property at the top end of the market.
Among recent deals was a family home with views across the Forth that sold for £1.17 million, £275,000 above the "offers over" price, while a home in Bruntsfield on sale for offers over £875,000 fetched almost £1.1m.
In another deal, a four-bed home in Polwarth achieved almost £200,000 more than the £625,000 asking price.
Andrew Rettie, head of its Scottish operation, said: "Good, realistically priced homes are selling, and selling well."
