A forensic study of Burke and Hare's crimes HE story of Burke and Hare's notorious Edinburgh crimes has survived for nearly 200 years.

Victoria Drummond lives and times VICTORIA Drummond (1894-1978), marine engineer, was born on 14 October 1894 at Megginch Castle, Errol, Perthshire, the daughter of Captain Malcolm Drummond of Megginch, groom-in-waiting to Queen Victoria, and his wife, Geraldine Cherry, the daughter of Baron Amherst of Hackney.

New chapter in hotel's story IT was the home of lawyer and philosopher John Wilson and played host to scores of Edinburgh's leading writers in the early 19th century, including Sir Walter Scott.

No.27 Mary Helen Young great scotswomen THE youngest of three children, Mary Young was the daughter of Elizabeth Ann Burnett and Alexander Young, a grocer's clerk. She moved to Edinburgh with her family in 1884, after her mother's death.
