MANAGERS at a £4m turnover video conferencing firm in Dunfermline have taken control of the company after securing funding from the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Two directors at nuVIDEO, Martin Cruickshank and Neil MacNeil, have bought out former managing director Stewart Bruce with the help of an undisclosed sum from RBS.
Cruickshank will replace Bruce as managing director and MacNeil will continue in hi
s capacity as technical director. They will run the company along with sales manager Grant Watson and support and services manager Gavin McGurk.
Cruickshank said he and MacNeil have immediate plans to recruit more staff at nuVIDEO's headquarters on Pitreavie Drive, where the company employs 25 people.
They also intend to focus more attention on their original firm, SRS Telecom, so that the two companies together can supply "unified communications" services to businesses in Scotland.
Cruickshank explained: "We're seeing an increase in demand for so-called 'unified communications', which essentially means the integration of voice, video and data. We believe our organisation is well placed to stay at the forefront of the movement towards that solution.
"We have a very strong position in both Scottish and UK markets, but we are determined not to rest on our laurels so will be looking to expand the team and invest in the business over the next few months."
Last year nuVIDEO turned over close to £4m.
