JUSTICE secretary Kenny MacAskill visited Edinburgh Central Mosque yesterday as part of the Scottish Government's commitment to fostering strong links with Scottish Muslim communities.
During his visit, Mr MacAskill met community representatives including management committee members, imams, women and students who attend the mosque.

After the meeting, the justice secretary toured the mosque.

He said: "I am delighted to meet with the representatives of the Muslim community at the Edinburgh Central Mosque as part of the Scottish Government's commitment to improving dialogue with the Scottish Muslim community.

"We are committed to meeting Muslim groups right across Scotland as part of our ongoing drive to make sure Scotland is a safe and stronger place for all our citizens."

He added: "I am always happy to engage with people from all our communities who bring so much to make up our diverse modern Scotland."

The mosque is to host an exhibition to educate the public about Islam.
