THREE chief executives who were once employed by the troubled NHS Western Isles at the same time will have left by the end of next week.
The board announced yesterday that Dick Manson will leave its employment from 5 September.
Yesterday was the final day in post for John Turner, who is leaving to become chief executive of NHS 24. He was brought in as an interim replacement for Laurence Irvine, sacked last month after a disciplinary hearing.
From Monday, the interim chief executive will be Gordon Jamieson, presently the nurse director/chief operating officer, the board's sixth chief executive since 2004.
Earlier this year a Scottish Parliament committee inquiry highlighted weak financial management at the authority and singled out Mr Manson and Dick Currie, the former chairman, for criticism.
Mr Manson left in 2006 but continued to be paid and Mr Irvine was suspended on full pay last September.
