Lib Dems call on SNP to come clean on finding bridge cash
THE Lib Dems have called on the SNP Government to come clean on how it is to fund the new forth road bridge.
Liberal Democrat Transport spokeswoman person Alison McInnes MSP said the news that a proposed weight restriction on the existing bridge has been delayed until 2017 should not delay any announcement on a second crossing.
She said: "I am sure that industries who rely on the Forth Road Bridge will welcome news that the threatened ban on heavy lorries has been delayed. The Scottish Government must not, however, use this as an excuse to make further delays on building the new crossing.
"With a price tag of £4 billion, there is a growing suspicion that ministers will be forced down the route of tolling to make up the shortfall."
