Slicing up the 'cake of destiny'
A CAKE in the shape of the Stone of Destiny took centre stage at a celebration in Edinburgh Castle attended by First Minister Alex Salmond, former 007 star Sir Sean Connery and Ian Hamilton, one of those who removed the iconic stone from Westminster Abbey nearly 60 years ago.
Last night's event followed the release of the new feature film Stone of Destiny, which premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival at the weekend.
It also coincides with the re-release of Mr Hamilton's Stone of Destiny book.
Mr Salmond said: "The rescue attempt marked the reawakening of a sense of Scottish nationhood."
