ORGANISERS of Europe's biggest fire festival have appealed for helping hands to carry torches at the event.
A spokeswoman for the Beltane Festival organisers say they are still short of torchbearers and stewards for the celebration on Calton Hill on April 30.
More than 10,000 revellers are expected to gather for the ancient Celtic celebration, to herald the start of summer.
It is part of a week of special events, including walking tours and a photography exhibition.
Alana Storey, one of the organisers, said they were looking for about 40 people.
She said: "Torchbearers get to dress up, wear paint, and carry fire.
"Stewards get free entry to our after-party. Both have the best seats in the house "
Stewards are required to attend a health and safety briefing beforehand.
