'Chemicals' in curry warning
Published Date:

MORE than a quarter of takeaway curries contain illegal levels of potentially harmful chemicals, a new study has found.
The survey of 66 curries found that 27 per cent used illegally high levels of artificial colour.
One contained five times the permitted amount of colouring. That is equivalent to 3.6kg (8lb) of brightly coloured sweets.
The colourings are limited because they can induce hyperactivity in children. The samples were taken in West Yorkshire.
