SCOTS legend William Wallace has been voted the "greatest Will of all time" in a new poll.
English poet William Shakespeare, often considered the best playwright in literary history, was pushed into second place in the Co-operative Legal Services (CLS) survey of 3000 people.

Third place went to Willy Wonka, the chocolate maker in Roald Dahl's children's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Prince William came fourth, followed by Hollywood actor Will Smith.

Eddie Ryan, managing director of CLS, said: "Worryingly, the same number who voted for the top five admitted they don't have a will and over half of all respondents have never discussed wills with their nearest and dearest."

Chairman Gordon, quite right, we can't have a nationalist icon like Wallace being first in anything.

Oh and for a laugh - why does the Scotsman censor the word "w*lly" ?

- isn't that a primary school obscenity, from the 70's ?

Also a name, but nevermind...

How many of this same sample of 3,000 people also believe that the earth is flat and have to be wheeled into an upright position in order to eat breakfast?

Pope Gordon, that's what you seemed to suggest in your rant at #1.

It could be argued the Will Shakespeare was an English nationalist of sorts. His desecration of the story of Gaelic icon Macbeth was pure politics. Spin that the Hootmson would've been proud of.

This poll was very useful. It proved that the English and some Scots - Pope Gordon - find irony a mountain to high to contemplate.

Uilleam Uallas - clach air a charn!

This guy hates anything nationalist. Pathetic really. His moronic nonsense infests these pages. Chairman of what exactly I wonder?

I am currently reading a book about the life and events of William Wallace in comparison to the tales of supposed English folk hero Robin Hood, the similarities are so striking that there is no doubt in my mind that Wallace was the original and inspiration behind the character Robin Hood.

How ironic that most English people refer to Wallace as a savage who got what he deserved while at the same time their celebrated folk hero was one and the same.

Well by mentioning just how pathetic your tirade of trash here actually is then I thought this was an "intelligent contribution". After all, there is nothing that you yourself can ever gift to anyone here but your own demented ejaculations. Is this not correct?
