Last K2 avalanche survivor rescued

THE last survivor of the mountaineering disaster that killed 11 people on K2 was yesterday plucked to safety from base camp by a Pakistani military helicopter.
Italian Marco Confortola, 37, was taken to hospital with severely frost-bitten feet.
